TIRAMISU’…

It is not possible that you will not love this! After telling you about Italian “Lasagna”, it’s time to talk about Tiramisù! One of the Italian best known dessert! Which also happens to be my dad’s favorite. He is always begging me to prepare it for every and any occasion.

You need:
  • -       5 eggs
  • -       750 grams of Mascarpone
  • -       230 grams of sugar
  • -       Savoiardi biscuits
  • -       Coffee
  • -       Cocoa powder
Sorry, still not able to convert grams, hope you will be better than me or you can help me with that!
With this ingredients you will get 1 big baking try (to serve to you guests or bring to some friends’ place) and a smaller you to keep frozen for you! ;)

How to make it?
You need 2 terrines and a pair of whisk (food processor). First of all, separate the albumen from the egg yolk, and place them in two different terrines.

Terrine number 1: mix the egg yolks with the sugar, using the whisks. Add the sugar some at the time. When your custard is well mix start adding the Mascarpone. You should end up with a soft, light yellow cream (very tasty).
Mascarpone

Terrine number 2: whip the albumen (adding just a pinch of salt). You should end up with a “cream” that if you try to turn your terrine face down, the cream will not move.

Now, mix the creams in the two terrines together and you get the “Tiramisù’s cream”. You also need to prepare some coffee, let’s say two mugs of it.

Savoiardi

Take the baking try and the savoiardi: deep one savoiardo into the coffee and put it in the baking try, repeat this procedure in a way to create a layer of them. Then, put some cream over them and repeat the same procedure another time.

The final touch is to add some cocoa powder over it! And the magic is done!

I’m kind of hungry and I’ll probably will prepare Tiramisù pretty soon, with my lovely friend Carla. We are planning to making it for Thanksgiving: an Italian tradition into an American one!

Ps: keep it in the refrigerator until you eat it, or if you want to save it for a later time you can put it in the freezer and preserve it for also a long time!
