Leben - Red Sox: from Worst to First - Parade 2013

Hello everyone,

as you might know "Red Sox"won!
They won the world series in baseball.

"They went from Worst to First".
2012 the Red Sox were the looser and 2013 they are the champions.

In Baseball history no team has achieved that before.

By the way:

The name "World Champions" might be misleading, because the competitions are taken place just in the US.
From my research there are Baseball teams around the world, also in Germany what I did not know. Therefore my understanding of the Name "World Champions" is a different.

Boston and its unique spirit "Boston strong".

The tragedy of the Bostons marathon in April 2013 has changed the spirit in Boston, their people, including the Red Sox team.

"The terror explosions disturbed the nation because they occurred in such a public place: the attacks killed three people, wounded more than 260 others, and put the city in a five-day lockdown until a manhunt finally captured the sole surviving terror suspect." (source)

“It's nice to see everyone so spirited and together, especially after everything that's happened,” (source)

"This was not just about winning a Championship. It was about a group of regular guys that believed in themselves and this city, and this country, and through their unbelievable efforts it helped relieve the pain of the Boston Marathon bombing in April," (source)

"They dedicated their season to the victims and the entire country embraced them, and they embraced Boston and the entire country. What we witnessed was a real life movie in the making and for me this was more than just sports. More championships will be won every year but the story of the 2013 Boston Red Sox will never be repeated."(source)

"This World Series was so much more than just a baseball game for the city of Boston". (source)

I would say that, too. Everywhere in Boston you could feel and see the special spirit of Boston: their willingness to be strong!

"Boston Strong"

To celebrate the championship and to honor the victims of the marathon.

"The Red Sox rolling rally took a somber tone this morning as the World Series champs paid tribute to the Boston Marathon bombing victims with a stop at the Boylston Street finish line before the duck boats splashed down into the Charles River."

Here you can see how many people where attending the parade:

It was really was a unique experience to see the parade. I was talking to some people in the subway and they told me it´s their first time attending a parade in Boston and they are living there for their whole life. For me as an exchange student living there for six months it is a really nice and unique gift. It is and was something really special.

You could feel the happiness of the whole city. The parade was taken place at the most wonderful day it could have been. It was really sunny and warm. Unbelievable that this type of weather would be possible in November.
It felt like the weather was ordered for this special day.

During the parade you could feel and see that the Baseball-players were special people. They are really down to earth and made fun with the crowd.

Camilla, Carla and me were attending the parade surrounded by special people.

There was this cute baby. I had to tak a picture of it.
Even Will Middlebrooks was paying attention to the baby.
It was so nice.

Sadly you can´t see it. This Baby had a Boston capy. So cute.

There should have been over 1 Million people on the streets watching the parade.

We had the good luck to see the "Duck Tour"/ "Red Sox" twice.
One time on the street and one time on the water.

Here you can see the trophy.

I am curious to read you impressions and thought about the parade, Red Sox and the unique spirit of "Boston Strong".

Love life.

Liebe das Leben.
